So with that said I'll play catch up. Two weeks ago Jared and I got to go to Mexico (Puerto Vallarta), and we had a great time. I love spending one on one time with Jar, it reminds me why I love him so much! We ate dinner on the peer one of the nights, and while we were eating these amigos came and wanted to play us some "happy" music. Jared told them "Ok" and when they were done, he handed them $3.00. They checked the money and informed Jared it was a $5.00 song. We all just laughed and laughed (but then of course we gave them $2.00 more dollars) When you come home from a place like Mexico, you feel so grateful for what you have. We are spoiled rotten.
Dinner on the peer
Our Amigos
We took a cab into town one day and went to Walmart (of all places). Their snacks and water happen to be a little cheaper than the hotel's. It didn't look any different from our Walmart's, and it was even right next to a Sams Club.
On the last night, we went to a true full on Mexican Fiesta. This little town outside of Puerto Vallarta pulls together and throws a great big party. I think they do this whole shin dig once a week for tourists. It was a grand party topped with dancing horses, Mexican tap dancing, and singing. Right when you get off the bus they drape a shot glass around your neck and start serving tequila. They couldn't figure out why we didn't want FREE tequila. Anyways, it was great entertainment, great food, and awesome service. I would totally go to it again.
Then I can't not write about this cool adventure we took. We loaded up into this truck, and bounced all over the place driving up a mountain. When we finally made it to the tour "base camp", we saddled up our mules (they are a cross between a horse and a donkey and are VERY slow, for those wondering) and went climbing up this mountain. Then the fun started...all the way back down the mountain, we got to zip line and repel rocks. One of the zip lines ended up in bed of water up to our necks (which I could have done without) but it was still way fun. I just think I would have enjoyed the rest of the adventure not dripping wet :) We had a blast together. One of the guides was LDS and you could tell the rest of them had a little respect for him. We talked to him a little about turning in mission papers. He was a convert to the church, and was ready to spread his knowledge. Neat kid!
we just needed to be equipped with some ammo
us sitting in whatever this transportation is called
mule riding
Jared could be a professional at this
All in all it was a great trip. I'm so grateful to my Mom and Dad for watching our kiddies. By the sound of it, they had just as good of time as we did. My Dad and the kids had snacks every night. They made up concoctions with all kinds of juices for their drinks and ate cheese bits from the end of tooth picks. And then my Mom took out her fake teeth one night scaring them into drinking all of their milk, because if you ignore your milk your teeth will fall out. Ellie is sure Grandma is "magic", but not like a fake magic...like real magic :) because she can just take her teeth right out.Oh the MEMORIES!!
