Cleaning Day!!

Every Monday, well not every monday, but most mondays, I wonder why I even clean or try to clean. Today was no different. I got up early thinking I could get most of the dirty work done before any kids got up, and that would make it more bearable. Plus after Pres. Monsons talk yesterday about how fast this goes and that we will miss it, I had a new outlook on motherhood (too bad it only lasted one morning) I just got done vacuuming the wood floors, which is practically my whole upstairs, (that was smart) when cute little Ellie thought she needed to sharpen the colored pencils all over the kitchen floor. Ok, I said, thinking of the talk, I got out the vacuum and re-vacuumed the kitchen. Then I got the whole floor pinesoled and I look at Drake and he had spit up all over the kitchen floor and he's playing in it. Thats fun, smeared formula with rice particles. Oh Drake I said, thinking of the talk again, then re-pinesol. Then Drake eats lunch and throws his apple juice sippy cup, and of course it has to spatter all over what, you say? Why not the kitchen floor again. By now the talk is long gone, and Im just getting a bit angry. Then at dinner, I get Garrett's tuna casserole in a bowl and eat all the peas out, because he is allergic, and what do you think happens next... yep bowl, casserole, all over the kitchen floor. You almost just have to laugh by now. But I didnt. Jared had just gotten home, and I was telling him about my day, and he did help me laugh about it. The moral of the story is - dont get up early to clean your house, it doesn't stay clean anyway, and never wipe up your kitchen floor. Actually Jared thinks it's a sign that 4 kids is enough, I just think it's a Mom having a rough day... Tomorrow will be better, you never have 2 terrible days in a row, right?

OH Kym, it made me laugh because it wasn't my floor but that story sounds all too familiar. Sometimes I wonder why we even clean!
I TOO loved the talk about Have Joy in the Journey. I'll call you next time I am NOT enjoying the journey :)

You've gotta love those days right? I hear you, that's why I just don't clean :)

It always seems like just after you finish cleaning is when the kids make a mess! This is a constant battle at our house. I clean one room and Ryker makes a mess right behind me... It's a never ending circle. But yes, as President Monson said, "Enjoy the Journey!"

At least you get an "A" for Effort huh? That's what you get for getting down on your hands and knees and cleaning your kitchen floor (I know you do) just use a mop!
